The Weekly WORD, 1/30 - 2/5

  • This Tuesday, January 31, Ellis Avery presents a (somewhat scandalous) tale of love in the art world in 1920s Paris in her novel The Last Nude.
  • On Wednesday, February 1, we’re joining forces with Europa Editions, Largehearted Boy, and Vol. 1 Brooklyn to celebrate Sara Levine’s Treasure Island!!! (rum punch and temporary tattoos will be involved).
  • Then on Thursday, February 2, Que(e)ry is co-presenting poets Saeed Jones, Metta Sama, and Amy King.
  • And on Sunday, February 5 at 1:30 p.m., George O’Connor will teach you all about comics and drawing and the Lord of the Olympian Underworld! Ideally for kids 8+, but all welcome.

But wait, there’s more! Don’t forget about our book groups! We’ll be talking Jo Walton’s Among Others on Saturday the 4th at noon, and Mr. Fortune at Classics book group on Saturday the 11th at noon. And for a look at the rest of February (which is JAM PACKED y’all), check out the newsletter.
