- Get writing advice from New York Times’ editorial board member Verlyn Klinkenborg as he discusses his new book, Several Short Sentences About Writing, on Tuesday the 18th.
- Celebrate the return of Largehearted Lit! The first of the fall events features Edie Meidav (Lola, California) and musician Kevin Salem, who has written several songs inspired by the book, on Wednesday the 19th.
- Support literacy (and eat brownies and drink beer) at our First Book-Brooklyn Fundraiser! Authors Gayle Forman, E. Lockhart, Matt de la Pena, and Michael Northrop will be in conversation about teen literature, and there will be a fundraising raffle with excellent prizes including signed books. Space is limited, so please buy your tickets (only $10) ahead of time! Thursday the 20th.
- Our Bookend event for the Brooklyn Book Festival, the Emma Straub Hollywood Variety Hour, features author Emma Straub in conversation with fellow luminaries Ira Glass (JUST ADDED!), Andrew McCarthy, Stephin Merritt, and Maris Kreizman. Tickets are $26.95, and each includes a copy of Laura Lamont’s Life in Pictures! Saturday the 22nd, at Public Assembly.
- Come visit us at the Brooklyn Book Festival! We’ll have donuts and staff picks at our booth by the North Stage, all day Sunday the 23rd, as well as a guest bookseller appearance from children’s author Michelle Knudsen at 2 p.m.
