The Weekly WORD

  • Today, January 14th, at 7 p.m., BookTalk Nation presents Emma Straub and Lauren Groff in conversation about their latest novels: Laura Lamont’s Life in Pictures and Arcadia.  (Please note: This is a virtual event. For full details, visit BookTalk Nation’s website.)
  • On Tuesday, January 15th, at 7 p.m., Anna Goldfarb, author of Clearly, I Didn’t Think this Through, will be in conversation with Tobias Carroll of Vol. 1 Brooklyn about, among other things, the perils of sexting and short men.
  • On Wednesday, January 16th, at 7 p.m., we’ll welcome Manuel Gonzales and his 1000 Words Project co-conspirators, Emily Raw and Ellia Bisker, for a multimedia event and reading from Manuel’s debut short-story collection The Miniature Wife and Other Stories.
  • Thursday the 17th, at 7 p.m., three (three!) Katherine Anne Porter Prize winners — Tehila Lieberman (Venus in the Afternoon), Michael Hyde (What Are You Afraid Of?), and Peter Brown (A Bright Soothing Noise) — will be reading from their work.  The reading will be followed by a Q&A and a signing.
  • On Friday the 18th, join us for an event with Tim O’Mara, author of Sacrifice Fly. He will read, field questions, and sign.

And the events keep coming! The following week we’ve got a Springsteen night, an evening devoted to Bad Trips, and a presentation on Bradley Manning from Brooklyn for Peace.
